Shall the Carnival Close for the Night?

I’ve always thought these things were so weirdly beautiful.

Southern Fried Thinker

My first and only time writing about Acid Park was this post.

Mr. Vollis Simpson, the creator of these beautiful pieces, passed away Friday. He was 94 years old.

I didn’t know him personally, but like so many others, I enjoyed seeing his work leap out of the darkness. I’m disappointed that the pieces will all be moved to a well-lit area downtown. I like them better when they give a little light on a dark summer evening, when you weren’t expecting it.
